TROOP 4 - Scouting America

BETHESDA

A SCOUT LED, ALL-GIRLS TROOP

Scouting America Troop 4 Bethesda is an all-girl troop meeting on Mondays at Concord-St. Andrews UMC (5910 Goldsboro Road, Bethesda).

With over 20 girls between the ages of 11 to 17, our Scouts have fun while leading the way.  Girl leaders plan, organize, and execute their program of meetings and activities such as hiking, camping, climbing, kayaking and paddleboarding, whitewater, and skiing.  They learn skills that will last a lifetime, including basic outdoor skills, first aid, citizenship, leadership, and teamwork.

Adult volunteers advise, train, and support.  They help Scouts grow into our next generation of leaders in our communities and country.

GOSHEN SUMMER CAMP

Every year, the troop has a week at Marriot Camp at the Goshen Scout Reservation. This is one of the highlights of the scouting year. Scouts can learn climbing, shooting, archery, boating and water sports, camping skills and earn a wide variety of Merit Badges. Scouts will cook for themselves (food provided) and there are events such as pirates breakfast on the lake, and evening activities.
